Become a Volunteer!

Get involved in the Summer Research Program by volunteering as a College-Prep Mentor or MiniLab Leader, LaunchPad Position. Volunteers can be graduate students, research staff (including undergraduate researchers), post-docs, or PIs.

College Prep Position: Organize and lead college-prep and career-prep workshops for high school students interested in pursuing a career in STEM. They also lead discussions about other important science topics, such as science ethics. The time commitment is approximately 5 hours total, spread across multiple days within one week.
Note: We already have a list of previous workshops that can be repeated if desired.
MiniLabs Position: Groups of scientists, engineers, or mathematicians that guide the WinSPIRE students through a hands-on experiment(s) that demonstrate the basic principles of their research. The time commitment is approximately 4 hours for one day in the summer.
Note: We already have a list of previous MiniLabs that can be repeated if desired.
LaunchPad Position: Support a one-day STEAM and college-prep event for high school students. Volunteers help lead hands-on activities, interactive demos, college-prep discussions, or assist with event logistics to inspire future scientists and engineers. The time commitment is approximately one day 9 am-5 pm (plus optional setup or prep time).
