Become a Volunteer!

Get involved in the Summer Research Program by volunteering as a College-Prep Mentor or MiniLab Leader. Volunteers can be graduate students, research staff (including undergraduate researchers), post-docs, or PI's.

College-Prep Mentors: Organize and lead prep workshops for high school students interested in pursuing a college degree and/or career in STEM, and lead discussions involving important science topics such as science ethics (~5 hours total per week).

MiniLab Leaders: Guide and train the students through hands-on experiments that provide foundational understanding for their research projects (~4 hours for one day).

WinSPIRE affirms youth of all genders and sexualities and recognizes that neither are a binary. Additionally, WinSPIRE foundationally believes that diversity in all facets and intersections (including, but not limited to, racial, ethnic, gender, and economic diversity) strengthens both society and science.
